A really old bike is in Sweden often referred to as a “gubbcykel”, freely translated into “old man’s bike”. I had the privilege of inheriting my grandpa’s vintage bike after his passing. This beauty was of the classic Swedish bicycle brand Crescent and I rode it with a passion. But one day, like most bikes in my neighborhood standing out on the street, it got stolen. Ever since I’ve been searching for a “gubbcykel” like my grandpa’s but without luck.

Then this summer while vacationing in the north of Sweden I found myself in need of a summer project. So I figured: Why not drive around out on the countryside and see if I can get my hands on some old bikes to repair and then bring down to the big city (Stockholm) where the demand of all things vintage is greater.
